Ben’s Mevagissey, is our 3rd venture, following the success of our award-winning ‘Ben’s Plaice Looe’, and ‘Bens Plaice Millbrook.’ Encompassing a takeaway and a restaurant, you can enjoy exceptional breakfasts*, delectable cream teas, traditional fish and chips, food from the grill, alcohol, soft drinks and more!
All our gluten free dishes are cooked in dedicated gluten free fryers. Although we can guarantee that no items with gluten are cooked alongside our gluten free items, it’s important we inform you that we do handle all allergens as well as gluten on the premises.

Yes, our menu covers gluten free options, plus options for vegetarians and vegans. We also try to make our specials diverse, to cover all requirements and tastes. Please ask one of our friendly team, who can advise you of the options we have to suit your dietary needs.
Can we book tables for the restaurant?
Yes, we take both walk-ins and bookings for the restaurant. If you would like to book a table, please contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate you. We would recommend you book for large groups, especially during the high season, to avoid disappointment.
Is your restaurant menu different to your takeaway
Yes. Our restaurant menu will include the traditional fish and chips, plus many of the staples you would expect from a fish and chip shop menu, but will also offer food from the grill and occasional special dishes to excite the pallet, if you would like something a little different.

At Ben’s Mevagissey, we understand that good quality ingredients are vital to providing you a first-class menu and customer experience. We are committed to sourcing our ingredients locally wherever possible, to both support the local Cornish economy and help reduce our carbon footprint. Our MSC-certified fish is sustainably caught, and we always use Icelandic cod – caught in deep, ice-cold waters – producing the best standard of white flaky fish which we fry in our signature light and crispy batter. All bacon, sausages, meat and dry-aged steak burgers are provided by the award-winning Philip Warren Butchers in Launceston, and potatoes are seasonal varieties, direct from a farmer in Downderry, to ensure you are served exceptional food at all times.

Aside from the normal foods you would expect, we also offer alternatives to give our customers a treat when we can. Monkfish, Scallops, Lemon Sole and other varieties of fish may appear on the menu when available to us – which are extremely popular.
